Woodlawn residents, stakeholders invited to participate in community meeting to guide the future of local schools


Network of Woodlawn and Woodlawn Children’s Promise Community to host 10/27 meeting, the first in the Future of Woodlawn series

(Chicago) … The Network of Woodlawn (NOW) and Woodlawn Children’s Promise Community (WCPC) invite Woodlawn residents and stakeholders to help guide the future of Woodlawn’s schools by attending a public meeting on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Apostolic Church of God, 6320 S. Dorchester Ave., Chicago.

“We invite residents and stakeholders to join us for the Future of Woodlawn community meetings, to plan our collective future,” said Nicole Woodard-Iliev, WCPC. “These meetings are an important opportunity to weigh in and have a voice.”

The Oct. 27 meeting on education is the first in a series of community meetings on the Future of Woodlawn, hosted by NOW and WCPC. Meetings in the winter and spring of 2013 will address the topics of economic and community development; safety; and health and human services.
